We Handle the Insurance Stuff

Insurance is confusing - especially for ABA therapy. Different plans have different rules. Authorizations expire. Claims get denied for mysterious reasons. It's exhausting.

We get it. That's why we have a team whose only job is dealing with insurance companies so you don't have to.

HOW INSURANCE WORKS FOR ABA THERAPY

Here's How the Process Actually Works

Insurance for ABA therapy isn't like insurance for a regular doctor visit.

01.

We Verify Your Benefits (2-5 Business Days)

You give us your insurance card and child's diagnosis. We call your insurance company and find out: Is ABA covered? How many hours? What's your copay? Do you need a referral? We explain everything in plain language.

02.

We Get Authorization (1-3 Weeks)

Most insurance companies require approval before therapy starts. We submit all the paperwork, assessments, and medical records they need. This takes the longest, but we handle it entirely—you don't lift a finger.

03.

Therapy Starts, We Bill Directly

Once authorized, your child begins sessions. We bill your insurance after each session—you don't pay upfront and wait for reimbursement. You only pay your copay or coinsurance.

04.

We Track Everything Ongoing

We monitor authorization expiration dates and submit renewal paperwork before you run out of hours. If claims get denied, we handle appeals. You focus on your child—we manage the insurance stuff.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

What to Have Ready

To verify your benefits and start the authorization process, we need:

Recent diagnostic evaluation report

COMMON QUESTIONS

Questions Parents Ask About Insurance

Does my insurance cover ABA therapy?

Most insurance plans are required to cover ABA therapy for autism thanks to state mandates and federal law (the Affordable Care Act). We verify your specific benefits during the verification process. In [State], coverage is generally excellent.

Do I need a referral?

It depends on your plan. Some require a referral from your pediatrician or primary care doctor. Some don't. We'll tell you if your plan requires one when we verify benefits.

How many therapy hours does insurance cover?

Varies widely by plan. Some authorize 10-15 hours per week. Some authorize 30-40 hours. It depends on your child's needs and what the insurance company approves. We request the hours your child clinically needs and advocate if they deny.

What if insurance denies coverage?

We handle appeals. If your insurance denies authorization or claims, our billing team submits appeals with additional documentation. Many denials get overturned on appeal. If appeals fail, we discuss your options (out-of-network benefits, self-pay, alternative funding).

Do you bill my insurance directly?

Yes. You don't pay us upfront and wait for reimbursement. We bill insurance after each session. You only pay your copay or coinsurance.

IF INSURANCE IS COMPLICATED FOR YOU

We Know This Is Overwhelming

If you're reading this and thinking "I have no idea what half these words mean," you're not alone.

Insurance is intentionally confusing. Deductibles, coinsurance, prior authorization, EOBs, CPT codes - it's a second language most people don't speak.

That's exactly why we have a billing team. Their whole job is translating insurance-speak into normal language and handling all the paperwork so you don't have to become an insurance expert just to get your child therapy.

What our billing team does:

Calls your insurance company for you

Explains your benefits in plain language

Submits all authorization paperwork

Handles claim denials and appeals

Tracks authorization renewal deadlines
